Q&A: Why do East Indians wear sandals all the time?
Why do East Indians wear sandals all the time? Whenever I see pictures of East Indians, they are always wearing sandals. Not to mention that here in America, whenever I see East Indians they wear sandals here.
Why’s this? Is it religious or something?

hehhe… its not religious 
its the climate… just like in summer westers like to wear flipflops all the time Indians wear sandals all the time , wearing shoes make the feet quite stuffy, sweaty and smell horrible! Its even considered okay to wear sandals at the workplace most of the times.. more formal than flipflops for sure
and yes, its not just East Indians .. its all Indians.

Tobe honest I dont really know why ,I used to wear them just because I was taught to wear them.

India is a hot tropical country, so it is very uncomfortable to wear socks and shoes. Also most Indians do not enter homes and temples / mosques with footwear. It is inconvenient to remove and wear socks & shoes, everytime you enter and exit home. Sandals are convenient to wear and easy to remove. Also they are cheaper than a pair of shoes. Most Indians are very poor. India is a rich country of poor people (more than a billion of them).

I believe it suits much to there costume they wear. Also its much comfortable compared to shoes.
