Q&A: what are your favorite pointe shoe brands?
my freeds have recently gone dead, and now i am going to buy new pointe shoes. but i’m not sure which brand to buy, because i’ve had my freeds for about a month and they didn’t work all that well for me. a lot of girls at my studio like brands such as grishko, capezio and russian. what is your favorite brand to wear?

i <3 grishko! i have real narro feets an they wrk real good. 
tho i only have class 2x a week, they last me about 3-4 months.

Capezio and nothing else for me.
What you need to do is get them professionally fitted. Professionals will be able to look at your foot’s shape and how you carry yourself en pointe and be able to match you with the best fitting shoe. It can take a while and you may try on 50 or more pairs but it really is worth it to have shoes that fit you perfectly. And the good news is you only have to do that once because once you know what style is best for you, you can just find that styles again on the internet and order them knowing that they are a good fit.
To make you shoes “live” longer be very careful when you break them in not to break the shank too close to box.

My favorite is russian pointes because they have harder shanks for stronger feet. I wouldn’t recommend them if you aren’t in an adv class tho.. maybe grishko. I am partial to russian shoes tho, I was trained in a vagonova school.

oh i tried freeds on and i hated them! dont listen to the people saying bloch.. bloch are probably the very worse. im using solo right now.. i had apprentice but i didnt llike it and went back to solo
