Question: How do you clean sweaty leather sandals?
I have a couple of pairs of leather clog sandals that I have not had very long, I really like these sandals and dont want to throw them away. I wore them to the beach and they got wet while I was wearing them and now they have that sweaty smell when i wear them for any amount of time. Is there a product or any way to clean them?

My daughter was a bridesmaid, got her dyed fabric sandals covered in mud at the reception (it was in a big barn!) I’ve brushed off the “chunks” with a soft nail brush, any other suggestions? The dry cleaner said he wouldn’t do them, but I may check with another and see what they say. Thank you!

So I want to buy my brother sneakers but I dont know what the hell kind of sneakers would match with his style.
He wears a lot of clothing from express, that kind of style. Blazers, Black/gray cardigans with collared button up shirts underneath them, Jeans, but only with actual black shoes. WHAT KIND OF SNEAKERS WOULD MATCH WELL WITH THIS?

I wore my good leather and suede sandals to the podiatrist and they wrapped my foot in some icky sticky junk and it left the soles of my sandal black. Ice and leather cleaners hasn’t helped.

Question : What is the best way to clean leather boots?
I’ve got a pair of leather boots. They are a pair of hiking boots. I went out on a nature trail saturday and wading through a creek. My boots were soaking wet inside and out. Now they are still wet ( inside and out) and the insoles of the boots are molding. The boots are solid leather with a leather insole. How can I dry the boots without cracking the leather? What can I use to remove the mold from the leather insoles? I really want to keep these boots in a wearable condition. Thanks for your help.

Use a cloth with bleach water to clean out the mold. Then stuff the boots with towels to get the water out as much as possible. You may have to do this a few times. If your boots are the lace up style, unlace them and pull the tongue down as far as you can to get air in them. Set them next to an air vent or baseboard heater with the insides facing the heat, but not too close. Do not set them in a cold closet or outside, it will make it worse.
If all goes well, your boots will be dry in a few days and mold free. Once they are completely dry, stuff them with newspaper to wick any left over moisture. If it doesn’t go well, you’ll smell it when you wear them.

After you kill the mold w/bleach (as babs suggests) get a tub of saddle soap, use according to package directions. Has oils in the soap so it won’t mess up the leather as it dries.

Question : How can I clean stinky, expensive sandals?
I have sweaty feet, and now the leather footbed of my expensive sandals (Wolky) — 0 for crying out loud — reeks. I’ve tried soap and water, rubbing alcohol, even the enzyme cleaner I use to clean my dog’s accidents. What to do about this annual sandal problem?? Is there ANYTHING that can get rid of that smell? I don’t want to throw away pair after pair of expensive sandals!!
