Q&A: My co worker keeps talking about my shoes!!!?
There is this new man that started working here in our office, he’s married & has a few kids, he’s only been here for a few months. Most of the time he’s a pretty cool guy, kinda weird sometimes with his random stories.
Last week he told me he got a shoe catalog at home & thought of me & thought I would like the shoes in it, he ends up emailing me the shoe catalog site & they are STIPPER heels!! I just laughed it off & told him I don’t wear shoes like that. I wear heels appropriate for work, like 3 ½ inch or some 4 inch heels but they are closed toe/peep toe & plain, don’t get me wrong I do have some clubbin heels but I don’t dare wear those to work, then a couple days later he emailed me the same site again & it was a sale on lingerie,like costume lingerie! Then he’ll pass by my cube & look at my shoes & mention how tall they are, THEY ARE NORMAL HEELS!! He will do this several times a day,its really grossing me out cuz he’s old & it just ocurred to me that he may have a foot fetish
I’m in my 20′s & he’s in his 40′s, if that matters & he knows i have a kid & that i’m engaged – why cant he control his little comments?
I dont dress revealing or skany to work & wear appropriate shoes-So whats his deal??HELP

he is old too that is really freaky. just tell him straight up that it makes you uncomfortable before it gets out of hand. dont laugh it off or make it seem like no big deal.

it sounds as if your co-worker has
some sort of foot or shoe fetish.
Ask him to please stop paasing along
sites containing provacative material
as it is inappropriate for the work place.
Simply tell him-
“I would prefer you not send me
any more of those sites as I am
really not interested
in that sort of thing.”
By doing so-
he may realize that what
you are telling him is that
you are NOT interested- period.
If his behavior persists,
then you need to talk to
his superior about his behavior.

Well, we do not know what is he thinking at the back of his head. But if you feel uncomfortable, tell him the next time he pop the same topic to you in a nice way that you do not wish to receive further such mails from him and that you are not interested about shoes topic.
If all dont stop, let your supervisor know. Office harrassment is common and dont let them go over board by keeping quiet.

I would nip this in the bud immediately. Simply tell him straight out, that you no longer feel comfortable with his comments and that him emailing you lingerie sites is way too personal. Tell him to stop in no uncertain terms so he gets the message loud & clear. Then if he continues report him to your boss because lingerie in a work setting is sexual harrassment it has nothing to do with work.
I would go so far as to forward his emails to the boss if he doesn’t back off.

I would report him to the supervisor for harrassment. He should not be sending you lingerie ads by email. And the comments would really piss me off. Not cool.

That’s called sexual harrassment in the workplace. Let this guy know he needs to stop this harrassment. If he doesn’t, notify your supervisor ASAP and if it still doesn’t stop contact human resources. Document dates and times you asked for help with this.

He is harassing you. Copy the emails and take them to your boss. You shouldn’t have to put up with crap like that.
