Q&A: if you were in jerry jones shoes would you release terrell owens?
i wouldnt because he is a great wide receiver, and yesterday patrick crayton said that every in the locker room likes and looks up to owens, also look what happend to the giants without plaxico burress. i think people cant let go of the past about owens.
he has chemistry with the team, he just hates to lose

If I were Jerry Jones I would let the people I pay a ton of money to do their jobs. The more I touch it the more volatile it gets.

And how are the Eagle doing with out T.O. (and they have worse receivers than a T.O.-less Dallas)

His past always becomes his present, he creates it for himself, why are you making excuses for him?

EDIT: Many players hate to lose, but they do not blame other people for their shortcomings. I would love to see what would happen if Romo called him out for having more drops than a top flight receiver should have!

Terrell owens in not Terrell Owens nomore

.Who would ever though Jerry Rice would play with another team. It’s a What have you done for me lately? league, not career stats.Do you think Marvin Harrison will be with the colts next year.? I seriously doubt it.TEAMs JUST WANT TO WIN BABY!

Answer by Corrado’s Nephew
If and only if the majority of his teammates unanimously feel he is a distraction to the team’s success.

Then and only then would I consider it.

Owens is a great individual player. He is also poison to your locker room. If your team is winning and he is catching the ball he is a joy to have around. Lose a couple games or lean on your running game a bit and he gets all hurt feelings. He is a bad apple that is very proficient at spoiling the bunch.

Don’t think so simply because of the salary cap hit Dallas would take. Cowboys gave TO a huge contract extention last year with some 12 million guaranteed. If they release him, they would take a huge hit on their cap possibly forcing them to release some other players or at least restrict them from signing free agents and draft picks. The Cowboys are grown men. Not everyone is going to get along. They just need to ignore TO and do their jobs. If they take the attention off TO, he will fade away into the sunset like a Cowboy does in the movies. Maybe he will then shut up and play ball.

I hate Dallas, so I say no, keep him there. I like seeing him get beat up twice a year by the Eagles.

TO is like a team cancer. He cries when he doesn’t get the ball, he tries to rip teams apart and he fights with his teammates. Does TO have talent? Yes, he is one of the most explosive players I’ve ever seen. He set all kinds of Eagles records that will probably not be broken in the next 20 years. He’s an amazing wide reciever, but he’s cancer on any team.

I propose the NFL allow a team of misfits to play in the year 2012. At QB would be Mike Vick, RBs could be Travis Henry or Larry Johnson, TE would be a loud-mouth rag like Jeremy Shock with TO on one side and Chris Henry (Bengals) on the other. The County Misfits!

no the whole team is overrated

nah hes a good receiver…keep him

  7. guyfromcalifornia says:

No, he won’t release him because he is a great WR. Jones new what he was getting into when he signed Owens. He knew he was getting a great player with a history of being a bad loser. What also comes with being a bad loser, is being a great competitor, and Crayton is right, everyone on a football team respects competitors, espescially the ones with the numbers that T.O. has put up. What Jones needs to do is let the team play. The whole TV show thing was way more of a distraction than T.O. Jones needs to fire Phillips because he isn’t the right guy for the job. He has to hire someone who has won while coaching a diva. That guy is Mike Shanahan. As great a player as John Elway was, without Mike Shanahan to reign him in, he would never been a Superbowl Champion or MVP.
