Q&A: I lost my shoe, what should I do?
My mother died, and my stepmother sucks. She has two daughters of her own, and favours them in everything. I do all the chores, and they never do anything. I scour the dishes, tables, etc., and scrub her room, and those of my step-sisters. There was a grand party here, and my step-sisters were invited. They sent for a hairdresser and didn’t eat for two days to look better! I wanted to go to, but didn’t have any clothes. Luckily, my good godmother lent me a beautiful ball dress and shoes but said that I had to return them before the midnight. I crashed the party and had time of my life. I met a very cute guy, and we danced, and had supper together, and I think I fell for him. It was his parents, actually, who threw that party. I was so happy, I forgot myself, and recollected that I had to go back on account of my clothes
at twelve only when I heard the clock sticking midnight. I had to ran away, literally, and lost one of my shoes. I don’t know what to do now. I can’t advertise or own it, because then my stepmother would know I crashed that party, and I don’t want it to be lost, I’d like to return everything to my godmother in good condition. I am afraid, too, if that cute guy would find out what I really am he wouldn’t like me anymore, yet I can’t stop thinking about him. And my lost handmade expensive shoe, naturally. What should I do?
