Q&A: How many hours can I work a week?
I turn 16 next month. Is there a limit on how many hours I can work a week because I am still a student? Also, what kind of money does a person make if they work a shoe store like Champs or Footlocker?

The law in CAN and USA limits a person working 40 or 44 hours per week. If you’re a student, I would think you are Part Time… Min hours for a part timer is 4 to 8 hrs per week. Having said all this, if you weren’t a student, you can work a CWW (Compressed work week), such shifts include 14 days of work, 14 days off, 12 hours each day… the entire hours work’ed times hourly wage is paid to you at regular time… none of CWW is at OT.

Full time is considered 40 hours in the US and Canada. Anything more is usually time and 1 half. So strive for that if you can. The most Ive worked was over summer my freshman year in college. Its was about 70 hours a week. However i don’t recommend that cause it was hell.
