Question: How do you keep sneakers white and looking very new/clean?
I see everyone with white/ clean sneakers-how do they keep them looking so clean-even teenagers.
Do they wash them in the washer every week?
I always have to buy dark sneakers for my son but seems like they are out of style.
The pictures have nothing to do with the content!!

i wash mine every now and then….cant wear dirty sneakers….yuck

Just try not to get them dirty. I have 2pairs of sneakers. One for wearing to mountains and muddy places, and one for normal wear, on the streets or on a track.

By coincidence I am buying a kit to Restore my old Nikes just for the hell of it. see how it works. First I need a pair of those shoe stretcher things.

Wash them in the machine, warm water, delicate cycle add bleach and regular detergent. Sometimes I put them in with light colored towels. Air dry. Our sneakers always look new!

There are special products out there to clean up the shoes, but boys are hard on them. I think the kids with the clean sneakers you see, probably have more than one pair and save the gross ones for the yucky boy stuff they do and nicer ones for the rest of the time. The special sneaker cleaner products can be found in a shoe store or the shoe polish aisle at your local WalMart.

Believe it or not I use ajax cleaner and it works really well, also if they are white leather sneakers you can clean them and then use white shoe polish that will make them white again.

My wife sprays the sneakers with Shout and then puts them in the washer with towels and proceeds accordingly. She does let them air-dry instead of drying them. They come out looking like new. She washes them as needed.

I’m a teenager and in my school and in my neighborhood the best pair of shoes to have is the White on White Nike Air Force Ones. (They are simple and go with any outfit.) But they always bump up and get wrinkled around the toe area And being so white makes them vulnerable to dirt, and after a good month or two of wear. and tear they began to look junky.
The best way is to buy shoe cleaner. Some shoe stores sell it seperately when you buy white shoes. Clean the shoes as much as needed, but not too much or the color will start to rub off. Also just a little note, the ink from blue jeans can rub off on the shoes. It’s best to tape the need of the jeans with some Scotch tape to avoid this. And if the shoes come with a card filler or some tissue paper on the inside keep it. This keeps the leather stronger for a extra while longer. Keep the filler/paper inside the shoes when not wearing them. Never put shoes in the washer. This destroys the toughness of the leather. Also try to wear the shoes only when necessary. Keep a pair of “play shoes” when you aren’t trying to dress to impress.

For starters make sure your son has more than one pair of sneakers. Dont ever throw the sneakers in the washer because that ruins them, it breaks the shape of the shoe and eventually willturn a shade of yellow. Every time your son comes home he should wipe them down with a rag using cold water.If there is a mark on his shoe then put a little “fantastic”on the spot and rub it off. Place scrunched up newspaper in the shoe to prevent creasing.

Besides the washer, I use Fantastik. It takes the dirt and black scuff marks right off.
i always buy shoe cleaner from walmart. it is for suede and leather shoes. I always buy solid white shoes and it works very well.
My teenage boys use scrubbing bubbles bathroom cleaner and an old tooth brush every sunday night so their shoes are clean Monday morning.

Try to rub black streaks or any dirt off then try white shoe polish. They make them for tennis shoes/sneakers/trainers whatever you may call them in your area.
I’m a pro slalomskateboarder- I’ve raced for the USA team and we have to keep Team USA looking great. Of course that means sometimes we wear red white and blue when we race so often we end up with white shoes to go with the pants (of course white shoes get trashed skating)…etc. so we use Sani white show polish…its a paint that was used by nurses orginally to keep their shoes white- even covers up the blood drips that can get on skaters shoes. Don’t wash white leather or the white will crack and come off.
Wash the outside of them with Greased Lightening or Mean Green. You can also throw them in the wash with Clorox.
Scrub your shoes with woolite and a scrub brush. That should work. Then apply a white shoe polish if desired. Another option is to always not wear white shoes.
They make a spray you spray on when the shoes are new and it puts a clear coat on them i dont remember the name of it but its sold at wal-mart in the shoe department.
Use an SOS pad. Bleaches them white!
i have a seven year old son and it is very hard to keep his shoes clean. i found that using shout on them works! i spray them down and wash them with whites and let them air dry. Boys will be Boys
I Found the best way to keep them white is to often use the household product “Soft Scrub”.
For canvas sneakers, mix equal parts of liquid dish soap (like Palmolive) and a powdered laundry soap to make a thick paste. Rub into the canvas using a brush (toothbrush works best) and apply a thick layer. Allow to dry in the sun for a full day. Wash in warm water in the washer and air dry. (For white sneakers only)
For leather sneakers, try 409.
Try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, I have and it worked pretty good.
Own a couple of pairs and rotate.
I wash my shoes using laundry detergent and a brush. Works every time.
I am a nurse and wear white sneakers to work every day. I wash them in the washing machine. I usually let them dry on their own overnight and they always come out looking very white.
You can do to a shoes store and buy white polish for your shoes. works great for when you want to go some where nice.
