You have to be kidding to compare Shania(who should be a MODEL not a singer because she is selling more from her looks) and Gretchen them to any of the legends. Toby is doing his own thing, and he may be a legend but not the same kind. Alan Jackson is about the only one who would really come close and maybe in years we could see it.

Yes Shania has surpassed filling their shoes. Enough said on that part. She is an icon and fine lady on top of it all. Bless her heart.
Tim, Toby, and Alan have done very well representing too.
All these artists mentioned have sang, appreciated, and spoken highly of the classic legendary country acts. They represent the new face, music evolves, times change. Can’t stop that but you can be a bitter old fogy and trash the new artists all you want, that’s your choice. Have fun taking that negativity with you to the grave.

Okay, its really sad, but I just sat down and researched this a little bit. I’ve heard the song many times, have it memorized and love it, but wasn’t aware of all of the songs/people named in there (most of them I did, but some I didn’t).
Here is what I come up with:
