Question: Did women wear flat shoes before the 50s?
Except for gold shoes and saddle shoes, all the examples of women’s shoes I find from between 1900 and 1950 are high heels (low heels are at least an inch). They even made high heels for women during the war when leather was rationed. Also, the shoes typically had little cushioning, though they were generally better made than modern shoes. Since people walked much more then, didn’t this cause knee and hip problems?

Is it very frequent that women take off their shoes during the day? Is it more comfortable that way? Does showing bare feet better than high heels?

I just need pictures of women with high heels, especially those of the sole’s shoe, so that one can imagine oneself under her shoes, and trampled by the woman. I don’t understand this. They wear shoes that are obviously painfull, and throughout the entire day, they will complain about how badly their feet hurt. What is the point? Why the self sacrifice? And if you do have the nerve to hurt yourself for fashion, why do you complain about it so much?

Q&A: What’s the deal with women and shoes?
I’m a woman, and I only own 2 pairs of shoes. A pair of tennis shoes and a pair of work boots I use for work. I don’t see the need to spend money on shoes-what I have is more than enough. But why do some women feel the need to have 25 dress shoes in 25 different shades of white? Or 5 pairs of pumps in 5 different shades of blue? It’s not like one is going to wear that many different kinds of shoes in a day.
