Q&A: Can leather sandals be worn in all weather conditions if they are treated with a leather waterproofer?
Or should the sandals be kept dry if at all possible regardless, with the waterproofer serving as more of a just-in-case backup protection to prevent major damage?

well my leather rainbows were ruined at the beach when someone splashed me….and i had waterproof protection
so i would say keep them dry and use rubber sandals in the rain/bad weather

Some types, especially water buffalo sandals, are intended to get wet.
I use them for summer hiking where I know there’ll be some wading involved. I do a lot of nature walks with my two boys. They both go barefoot, so they love following streams, but I want something on my own feet, and my water buffalo sandals work really well.
