base footwear–: what is the disadvantage of not applying a base paint in my custom shoes?
so im generating this school project, i want to customize my shoes with no applying a base acrylic paint simply because i ran out of paint.so whats the worst factor that could happen?by the way im customizing a slip-on(vans) in case that is necessary.

You do not require a base for them. Just apply the paint straight mixed with textiles medium.

A base isn’t really required.
The only “downfall” of not priming your shoe is the colors differ slightly with out a stark white base (which brings out color much more prominently).
I would not be concerned about the base, I’d worry a lot more about what you will seal it with. Otherwise, your going to leave a rainbow trail behind you if you step in a puddle, or it begins to rain
